If you’re unaware what this item and process achieves, it simulates the block being under the same torqued up conditions, as to when it has a head torqued down.

Bores move and distort once you clamp the head down. If your bores are honed without one of these, you then are in effect changing your nice round honed bores, once torqued in an operating condition.
