The VAG 1.9 TDI PD 8v (engine codes ASZ, ARL, AXR, BLT, BXE and friends) is one of the most-tuned diesel platforms in Europe — the pump-duse 1.9 turbo-diesel behind the Audi A3 8L / A4 B6 / B7, VW Golf Mk4 / Mk5 GT TDI, Polo GT TDI, Bora TDI, Seat Leon TDI, Ibiza Cupra TDI and Skoda Octavia vRS TDI. Strong block, massive tuning headroom, and very popular for high-MPG fast road builds and TDI drag programmes.
Pro-Race Engineering supports PD 1.9 TDI builds: forged rods, forged piston kits, ARP head studs, multi-layer-steel head gaskets, ACL race bearings, valvetrain components and supporting fasteners for stage 3 hybrid turbo and built-bottom-end PD diesel builds. PD heads are a known weak point at high boost — we can spec the right valve, spring and gasket package.
