4th gear on the 02M and 02Q gearboxes is known to the weakest point in these gearboxes.
Under high torque and load the input shaft flex’s, this reduces the area of teeth that are engaged and results in stripping the teeth.
We use this billet input shaft insert to strengthen the input shaft and reduce this flex. This insert combined with the external 4th gear support, will give you gears increased support that is required.

For installation please apply heat to the gear assembly and put the insert in the freezer. Please ensure you apply plenty of heat to the input shaft assembly, you need to ensure this is heated right through to the core and not just the gears/outer area of the unit. Once a fair heat differential is achieved it will need to be pressed in, this needs to be completed whilst there’s still a fair differential between the two.
